Description

Igarapé: Coffee with a Purpose

Grown in Brazil’s Cerrado region, one of the country’s youngest and most dynamic coffee-producing area. Igarapé is a coffee with impact built into every cup.

Beyond its rich and comforting flavour, Igarapé supports the Apuí Emergency Fund, a programme run by the Institute of Conservation and Sustainable Development of the Amazon, known as IDESAM. The fund works in Apuí, a rural municipality around 450 kilometres south of Manaus, where many local livelihoods depend on agriculture.

Apuí sits on the edge of the Amazon’s agricultural frontier, where fire has traditionally been used to clear land for crops and livestock. The Apuí Emergency Fund is helping communities move towards safer and more sustainable alternatives by studying the causes of fires, raising awareness, supporting local fire brigades and restoring damaged land through reforestation, agroforestry and silvopastoral farming.

For every kilogram of Igarapé sold, $0.28 is donated directly to the programme. Over the past four years, this commitment has contributed to a $50,000 co-funded initiative, helping to protect and replant eight hectares of rainforest in the Apuí region. By choosing Igarapé, you are supporting the people and forests of Apuí as they work to replace a legacy of fire with one of regeneration and renewal.

In the cup, Igarapé has a creamy, full body with smooth notes of milk chocolate, caramel, nougat and roasted hazelnut. The result is a balanced and comforting coffee that is easy to enjoy every day.

Taste the difference. Support the change.

Behind every great coffee is a great producer. 🌱☕️

For our Ginger Anaerobic, we sourced the green beans from El Renacer, a farm in Colombia owned by renowned producer Elmer Restrepo. 🫚
