Description

Experience the Soul of Tanzania in Every Sip

Bright citrus, black tea and soft brown sugar sweetness come together in a beautifully balanced cup that reflects both the landscape it comes from and the women who produced it. Grown at 1,750 metres above sea level in Tanzania’s Mbinga region, this coffee is produced by the Lupembe Women’s Project, a collective established in 2016 near Lupembe Mountain. Bringing together women with generations of coffee-growing knowledge, the project was created to strengthen economic independence, promote long-term sustainability, and give greater recognition to women working within Tanzania’s coffee industry.

After harvest, only carefully selected cherries are fully washed before fermenting for 12 to 30 hours. They are then slowly dried on raised African beds for 12 to 18 days, allowing the coffee to develop exceptional clarity, clean sweetness and a refined balance in the cup. Produced from a blend of N39, KP423 and Compact varieties, this lot achieves an SCA cupping score of 84, placing it firmly within the speciality coffee category. Expect delicate citrus brightness, gentle black tea characteristics and a smooth brown sugar sweetness that lingers long after the final sip.

For our Ginger Anaerobic, producer Elmer Restrepo adds natural microorganisms and ginger during the 72-hour fermentation.

The result? A sweet, complex coffee with notes of lemongrass, peach and ginger ale 🍑🫚
